ACT OF CONTRITION
Oh, My God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you. And I detest all my sins because of your just punishments. But, most of all, because I have offended you, My God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen.

FIRST RECONCILIATION AND FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION 2024-2025
MANDATORY FIRST RECONCILIATION MEETING
We will have a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, October 1st at 6pm in the Xavier auditorium.
This meeting is for parents only.
Please, bring a copy of your child's baptismal certificate or send a picture of it to Tami at [email protected]
FIRST RECONCILIATION
First Reconciliation on Monday, December 2nd at 6pm. This is only for parents and the 1st communicant. All parents and 2nd grade students will meet at St. Francis Xavier Church. Parents are encouraged to receive the sacrament after the students have all had a chance.
FIRST COMMUNION RETREATS
Mandatory First Communion Retreat for both parents and children
Please arrive at 8:45AM to sign in before the retreat begins!
Assignments are as follows (subject ot change):
FIRST COMMUNIO PRACTICES
ALL Xavier Students will come to the Dyersville practice for the class picture**
April 22nd at 6:00 pm First Holy Communion Practice at St. Josephs, Earlville
April 24th at 6:00 pm First Holy Communion Practice at St. Peter and Paul, Petersburg
and St. Boniface, New Vienna, meet at New Vienna at 6 pm
April 29th at 6:00 pm First Holy Communion Practice & Pictures at St. Francis Xavier,
Dyersville. Starting at 5:30 pm a photographer will take individual
pictures. We will provide parents with an order form next spring if
you would like to order. Your student needs to be dressed and
ready at 6pm a Photographer will be taking group pictures for the
Xavier Yearbook. This is the schedule for Xavier yearbook photos:
6:00 PM Mrs. Ungs’ Class
6:05 PM Mrs. Kelchen’s Class
6:10 PM Miss White’s Class
6:15 PM Class Pictures—all students wanting to be in the group photo should be present at 6:10 PM
We will start practice at 6:20 pm and practice with each session
separately.

SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES
May Crowning: First Communicants have the joy of crowning Mary
on Mother’s Day. All students are welcome; 1st communications are encouraged to wear their 1st Communion outfits and process with flowers they give to Mary. Each Church in the Cluster will have a Crowning at their regular Mass that weekend. Dyersville will crown Mary at the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday
June : The Feast of Corpus Christi
June 22nd at 10:30 am The Feast of Corpus Christi: Each year at St. Francis in Dyersville we have a procession/parade with the Eucharist. All students are encouraged to participate and 1st communicants can come wearing their communion outfits. Every child will be allowed to scatter flower petals before the Lord during our procession of the Holy Eucharist through Dyersville!
